Telemedical service models (WP5)

The overall objective of WP5 is to develop and validate feasible telemedicine service models for detection of accidental falls, fall risk assessment and exercise counselling. The service models shall be independent of the sensor systems and other technological platforms used to collect and disseminate data. Objectives for the three different domains are:

  • To establish a service that is initiated as a response to a real fall and that will give the person immediate assistance. This service will be implemented and tested on real users.
  • To develop a service that can demonstrate an exchange of information between the older person and caregivers about fall risk, e.g. health‐care personnel are given information to be used for clinical decision making about the older person’s fall risk related to movements. This service will be implemented as a proof of concept.
  • Develop a service that can demonstrate exchange of information to further the self‐adapted intervention (WP7), where the older persons is given individualised exercise guidance based on data on activity patterns collected through a smartphone or a wearable sensor. This service will be implemented as a proof of concept.
