In this study, a previously proposed unobtrusive nighttime fall detection system based on wireless passive infrared sensors and furniture load sensors is evaluated in a pilot study involving three older subjects, monitored for a combined total of 174 days.

FARSEEING launch Taxonomy of Technologies
The FARSEEING consortium has developed a taxonomy of technologies to address the problem of describing, reporting and interpreting interventions that involve use of technologies. The taxonomy will enable a common language for describing the technologies being assessed. Links to the hard copy and online tool are provided.
